Dear Students,
The conference call was very informative today, but there were
some concerns. As students representing the state of South Carolina for the
National Federation of the Blind it is imperative that “all” officers are
present during the conference calls. The students present were: Malik
Bennett (President), Willie Wester (Vice-President), Justin Williams
(Student Advisor), Keyanna Ladson, and Justin Preston. Some students had
legitimate reasons why they were unable to make the call, but there are
some (officers) whose absences have become habitual. In order for our
student division to be effective we have decided to vote and remove any
officer from his/her office if this behavior is not remedied. This is not
an attempt to discourage anyone from being a part of the student division,
but is a necessary measure to increase attendance and accountability for
anyone who holds an office. This decision was agreed upon by the members
present, as well as, some of the members who had legitimate reasons why
they could not attend the call. If there is a problem with the scheduling
of the calls please feel free to voice those concerns at our next
conference call on January 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
Sincerely Yours,
Willie Wester
(Vice-President)
