SEPTEMBER 10 COLUMBIA CHAPTER MEETING

Tiffiny Mitchell gaveled the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Isaiah Nelson and his kitchen crew prepared and served an excellent dinner
which our guest speaker for the evening commented that it was a delicious
and well balanced meal. Leanna Hall gave the devotional for the meeting and
sang as well. We had a few visitors and it was good to see Laura Thompson
and Wanda Sheck with us. Please keep Julia Rembert in your prayers as she
has been in the hospital for a few days. Donald Capps introduced our guest
speaker, Tim Graham from Graham Fitness. Mr. Graham is a certified
Nutritionist and exercise specialist. He spoke on the benefits of proper
exercise and diet.

The Columbia Chapter weekend at Rocky Bottom is scheduled for
October 2-4. If you are interested in going or need a van ride, contact
Tiffiny Mitchell at 629-5915.

Elections will be held at the October 8 meeting. The
Nominating Committee consists of David Houck as Chairman, Kattie Jackson,
Shelley Coppel and Neil Dorsay. The committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. in
David Houck's office on October 8. Please contact the committee members if
you are interested in running for office.

The October 8 meeting dinner will cost $10 but it promises to
be a feast!

The weekend of October 17 is the School for the Blind's Alumni
Association weekend. If you are going, and need details on the hotel, or
need a van ride, please contact Isaiah Nelson at 413-2434.

October 22 is Exceptional Citizens Day at the State Fair. The
van will leave the Center at 4:00 p.m. Contact Tiffiny Mitchell at 629-5915
if you plan to go.

              On Saturday, October 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the
Columbia Chapter is having a fish fry with plates costing $7.50 and $8.50 or
you can get a chicken plate for $7.50.

On Saturday, October 31there will be a yard sale. You can get
a table for $30 and all you sell is yours to keep or you can bring yard sale
items to the Center for sale.

The Columbia Chapter is currently organizing a cruise which
will set sail on April 25, 2016, on The Enchantment of the Sea, Royal
Caribbean Cruise line. The cruise will be five days and four nights and the
deposit is $200. For more detailed information contact Tiffiny Mitchell at
(803) 629-5915.

David Houck gave the Center report and he gave a Fun Day
Festival report. Columbia slacked off in Fun Day ticket sales by letting a
small chapter of the NFB of SC sell more tickets! The Loris Chapter sold
the most tickets and received the $300 for their treasury. Its President,
Alma Lee Doyle sold the winning ticket and she received $50 and sold it to
Vincent Powell of Loris who received $500. Let's work harder on the
upcoming Orlando bus ticket sales! New lighting has been installed at the
Center which yields more lighting at a reduced cost.

The funds received at the meeting were as follows: $51 for
van money, $34 for the 50-50 raffle and $68.29 in the freewill offering.
Congratulations to the Capps for winning the 50-50 drawing! See you for all
the October activities as October is Meet the Blind month!
