Tek Talk Welcomes Colleen Wunderlich, Director,The Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship, Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired

The Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship
The Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship (FCE) is Hadley's business program. Founded in 2011 as an answer to high unemployment rates among people who are blind or visually impaired, the program provides free, practical and accessible online business education to participants and their families anywhere in the world. The FCE also assists entrepreneurs in the development of business concepts for new products or services. Modules explore the process of building a business through in-depth study of self-employment, market research, and creating a marketing, financial and business plan. Instructors provide one-on-one advisory services and guidance to help students design an individualized course of study to meet their business goals.

This innovative curriculum includes 30 online courses, 40 webinars and interactive discussion forums. Since the FCE's inception in 2011, more than 2,500 students have enrolled, providing positive feedback on how the program has helped them reach their professional goals, such as:
*           Improving employability
*           Gaining business and technology skills
*           Exploring the pros and cons of self-employment
*           Information needed to start, operate and expand a business
*           Learning from and networking with other blind business people
