Calling All Actors with Disabilities!
Able SC is partnering with Trustus Theater for an upcoming production of "Cost of Living," winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. A casting call will be held on Wednesday, September 12 and Thursday, September 13 at the Trustus Side Door Theatre starting at 7:00 pm each night. We are seeking two actors living with disabilities to portray characters in the upcoming production of "Cost of Living."

For more information and details about the casting call please click here.

About the Audition...
The Story:
One of the most powerful shows of 2018 comes to the Trustus Side Door Theatre. Eddie, an unemployed truck driver is reunited with his ex-wife Ani after she suffers a devastating accident. John, a brilliant and witty doctoral student, hires overworked Jess as a caregiver. As their lives intersect, this play delves into the gap between abundance and need and explores the space where bodies - abled and disabled - meet each other.

The Characters:
Ani, female, early 40s. Pronounces her name, "Ah-nee." She was involved in an automobile accident and has a severe incomplete spinal cord injury. Ani is quadriplegic though some of the fingers of one hand are still partially functioning.

John, male, mid-20s. John uses a wheelchair, he's beautiful, and he has cerebral palsy. He has a halted way of speaking but otherwise, he is determinedly polished. He comes from wealth and wears it well.

[Note: Both Ani and John appear in bathing scenes.]
