JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The South Carolina Commission for the Blind helps blind or visually impaired residents of South Carolina gain independence and identify their strengths, abilities, skills, and resources to obtain employment. The commission provides adjustment-to-blindness training and job-placement services for thousands of South Carolinians each year.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides medical treatment, consultation, and instruction to consumers who are enrolled at the Ellen Beach Mack Rehabilitation Center for Employment and Independence (EBMRCEI).

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing. Agency Requirement: Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nursing Certification from the state of South Carolina.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with individuals will blindness and other physical impairments.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Reports directly to the EBMRC Director. Under limited supervision, employee performs work independently. Minimal Travel is required and occasional overnight stays. Employee must be able to lift, carry and pull at least 10 pounds.
