The National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina (NFB of SC) would
love your help in our Thanks for Giving box which provides needed items for
the blind of South Carolina. Lack of transportation is a huge barrier for
the blind to get groceries and other items they need due to the rural nature
of the Palmetto state and now the challenges with COVID-19.
Will you join us in filling our Thanks for Giving box. It will be located on
the front porch of the Federation Center, 119 S. Kilbourne Road, Columbia,
SC 29205 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday,
now and running until December 12. At our Christmas party at the center on
December 12, we will give thanks for all that has been provided and disperse
the items to members in need in our blindness organization.
Needed items can include, but are not limited to:
Nonperishable food items.
Personal care items such as toothpaste and toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant,
soap/body wash, hand sanitizer.
Household items such as paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish
soap socks, gloves, hats gift cards to grocery stores, Walmart, etc.
Gift cards to stores like Walmart.
Questions, please call Jennifer Bazer, President of the NFB of SC at

The National Federation of the Blind welcomes all blind people, parents of
blind children, blind students, those losing vision, and more. We are a
family of members and friends that knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. You can live the life you
want.
How to Join
Federation of the Blind is to attend a chapter or division meeting in your
local area. You can find your nearest chapter or division meeting by
reaching out to your state affiliate president. Membership in a chapter or
division will automatically grant you membership in your state affiliate and
the national organization.
