2020 Braille Holiday Card

Since the late 1950's
the Hadley Woman’s Board has been offering a braille holiday card, making this one of the longest running fundraisers of its kind. This year’s card is a very special one as 2020 marks Hadley’s centennial.
This year's artwork
depicts a nostalgic winter scene where skaters glide on a frozen pond, surrounded by deep green pines, while birds perch quietly amid the falling snow. For a tactile effect, a skater and the outline of the frozen pond have been embossed.
In the Hadley tradition
the 2020 Braille Holiday Card carries the interior greeting "Wishing you peace, happiness and the spirit of the season" in both print and embossed braille.

About the artist
The artwork is by Tory Gapp, a native of Chicago’s North Shore, where Hadley is headquartered. For this, Tory wanted to convey the profound joy in the little moments of life. She was inspired by her own childhood experiences in Chicago’s snowy winter months. See more of her work at victoriagapp.com.
