You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams.

11 March 2021

President Steve Cook started the March, Columbia Chapter meeting of the
National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina at 6:15. David Bundy led
the Pledge of Allegiance; Carolyn Cooley led the 1 minute message; and
Shelley Coppel led the NFB Pleddge. Pearl Riley brought our devotion for the
month, focusing on proverbs 3, 5-6, trusting in God.

The guest speaker for the month was Ms. Libra Robinson. She told us her
inspiring story about how she overcame her negative feelings, doubts and
insecurities about blindness and opened her own business. She is now the
owner of NSights VIP Services. Within the last year she has added an online
store for aids and products. Find her on the web at nsightsvipservices.com,
or give her a call at 202-427-3600.

Thom spittle gave our monthly treasury report. Tracy Spittle acknowledged
March birthdays and called the roll. The meeting minutes for February will
be held over until April when February and March Minutes will be read.

Students should be reminded that the date for applying for a national
scholarship is fast approaching. Apply by March 31. Also, in other national
news, the 2021 NFB Convention will be held virtually again this year. Go
online to register before the end of May.

President Cook closed the meeting with the trivia question of the month.
Which 2 South Carolina Chapters were mentioned in the presidential release
and why. The question was answered by Shelley coppel. The answer was the AT
Large Chapter and the LanCaster Chapter. The reason was that they both had
joined PAC.

Until Next Month

Tracy Spittle

Secretary, Columbia Chapter
