Lyle F. Colburn 1930 - 2021
WHITESBORO - Lyle F. Colburn, 90, of Whitesboro, passed away on Sunday,
March 14, 2021 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare.
He was born on November 23, 1930, the son of Harold and Marjorie (Ford)
Colburn and graduated from Concord High School in Concord, NH. On August 19,
1950, Lyle was united in marriage to Sally A. McAllister in Concord, NH and
shared a blessed union of 63 years until her passing on September 1, 2013.
He proudly enlisted in the US Air Force, serving for over 20 years and
earned the rank of Sr. Master Sgt. Lyle was involved in maintenance analysis
and used his expertise in working on the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Over
his military career, he served in Vietnam, Greenland and Okinawa. Following
his discharge, Lyle was employed for an additional 20 years with the US
Postal Service, Utica, until his retirement in 1994. 
He was a past member of the United Baptist Church, Concord, NH. 
Lyle was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather,
who cherished the time spent with his family and attending all the family
planned events. He spent as much time as possible at the family camp in
Suncook Lake, Barnstead, NH, fishing in the lake. Lyle had a passion for
classical music, extremely handy around the house and was a quiet man with a
wonderful dry sense of humor. He also enjoyed the many years of travel
following retirement with his beloved wife. Lyle was also an avid Red Sox
fan. 
Surviving are his daughter, Julie (Ed) Bible, Lexington, SC; sons, Scott
(Jodi) Colburn, Rome, Mark (Lucilla) Colburn, Sunnyvale, CA and Dennis
(Shirley) Colburn, Sr., Whitesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Walker,
Ashton (Dondra) Bible, Adam (Theresa) Colburn, Samantha (Gabriel) Ramirez,
Christopher Colburn, Matthew Colburn and Dennis Colburn, Jr.;
great-grandchildren, Sally and Ethan Walker, Seraphina Colburn and Valentina
and Elena Ramirez; brother, Robert (Carol) Colburn; and brother-in-law, John
Stevens.
He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Colburn; and sisters, Adele (Paul)
Quiet, Carolyn Ballum and Judy Stevens.
In keeping with Lyle's wishes, there will be no public visitation and
services will be private for the family. Burial will be in the summer in
Blossom Hills Cemetery, Concord, NH. 
Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro.
