> I hope everyone is gearing up for their breaks and maybe a delicious plate. While I am soaking my collard greens and preparing spoonbread, I wanted to update you all on the fun that the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee is up to. Check it out:

> Are you a NABS or Federation member that loves music? Do you have an interest for learning about different types of music that represents or depicts different lifestyles, interests or backgrounds? If so, you are invited to “NABS on Shuffle,” an interactive Zoom hour of music, friendship, and communication. During this biweekly Zoom chill hour, attendees are invited to join the committee in listening to and learning about different types of music from different interested members. Some of the songs may be personal favorites and some may be introductions to a way of life. Join us in talking about production, instrumentation, and applications of the type of songs we hear. Finally, feel free to join and reflect on how these different styles of music influence our exposure to the genre, culture, or person that made the request.
>
> As always, NABS is craving your participation. Please feel free to request songs that are important or a favorite of yours by completing the following song request form. Your suggestion will be added to our virtual jukebox and will have an opportunity to be played during our shuffle! If you submit a form and don’t hear your requested song Monday, no worries. The NABS on Shuffle jukebox will hold suggestions in the playlist each week, making only one request necessary for the song to find airplay in a future “On Shuffle” event. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Robert Parsons at Robert.E.Parsons at wmich.edu. We look forward to connecting with you all Monday evening.
