You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams.

Our positive philosophy and connections to blind mentors and peers build and empower our expectations of employment.

Upon joining the National Federation of the Blind, I met blind people who were already doing some of the things I wanted to do. I joined a group of blind computer programmers and learned other blind persons were working in that field. In the end, I earned a degree in mathematics and went on to work full time in the computer field. – Steve, long-time member from Minnesota .

Double your contribution and help ensure that we fulfill this matching gift during the month of October!
