Good Evening Federation Family,
The Clarendon County Chapter is sad to let everyone know that long-time
member, Mrs. Joretta Carper, passed on October 15, 2021. Please keep her
husband, Earl and her family in your thoughts and prayers. The obituary is
below.
MANNING - Joretta May Lathan Carper, 81, wife of Earl Lester Carper, died
Friday, October 15, 2021, at her home.
Born November 2, 1939, in Anderson, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late
James Lathan and the late Mary Crouch Lathan. She was a member of the
National Federation of the Blind, the Red Hat Society, and Manning First
Assembly of God.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years of Manning; her son, Michael T.
Epperly (Toni) of Greenville; her daughter, Candace J. Brock of Clemson;
four grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Brock, Lisa Annette Craigo (Daniel),
Jessica Annette Brock and James Michael Epperly; and seven great
grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James
Barton Epperly, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in
the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Ambrose officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at
Stephens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Manning First Assembly of God, 3574 Highway 260,
Manning, SC 29102.
