You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams.

Subject: More info about our Sunrise and Shine call for tomorrow, September 23rd. You won't want to miss our two very special guests!

Hello again everyone,

I want to take a moment and thank Jerilynn Higgins for bailing me out of a jam earlier today. Jerilynn was kind enough to prepare and send an announcement about tomorrows Sunrise and Shine Zoom call. I can tell you that not having internet access for a couple of days can sure throw your world into disarray, but luckily things are getting better.

So sorry for those who are seeing this announcement for the first time this week, but hang in there, our call tomorrow will make it all worth it.

We actually will have two special guests speaking to us tomorrow and as it so happens, both of these incredible ladies will be with us in Tampa for our upcoming State Convention.

Jerilynn Higgins will be discussing a breakout session she is hosting, a wonderful “Possibilities/Independence Fair”! She will spend some time describing what exhibits will be available for you to explore.

Also joining us tomorrow will be Renee Rentmeester, one of the hosts of the extremely popular “Cooking Without Looking” show. Renee will tell us all about how to tune into the show and even more about how to connect to its content. Renee confirmed with me today that the show will have a presence in our Convention Exhibit Hall at the Embassy Suite the weekend of October 1st thru 3rd. I can hardly wait to meet these folks in person, I’ve been tuning into the show for many years, and perhaps you have too.

As a reminder, many attendees from Rise and Shine had been considering providing financial support to the Convention by helping to fund our commitment to door prizes, so if you can help please feel free to contact me or to send a donation via Pay Pal with the notation SRS door prize fund. You can send the donation thru my account by using my email address of: Russell at radiorusty.com <mailto:Russell at radiorusty.com> . Thanks to all of those who provided support both last year and this year too.

That’s enough out of me for now, (I’m sure you agree), but I am hoping very much to see you tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM EST. See the email included below for call in information.

Warmly,

Russ Davis,

Coordinator, NFB Newsline of Florida

Subject: [NFBF-Statewide] Sunrise and Shine keeps happening! Tomorrow September 23, NFBF State Convention peaks and NFB Newsline Updates - Everyone is Welcome!!!

Hello to one and all!

I'm happy to see that Sunrise and Shine with NFB Newsline is settling into its new schedule for 2021 and that fans of the popular Zoom call can plan their schedules accordingly. We are now gathering on the second and fourth Thursday's of each month beginning at 9:00 AM. This means of course that Rise and Shine with NFB Newsline will be happening tomorrow, Thursday, September 23, (and for those planning ahead, again on)October 14.

We hope you will be able to join us for our exploration of NFB Newsline and other related topics. Tomorrow morning,. I think you will be pleased with what’s new in Newsline. Our discussions about Newsline don't take up all of the time we spend together though, there is always time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

we can spend a bit of time focusing on an exciting upcoming event, that being the NFB of Florida’s annual State Convention. Many members of the Federation family haven’t seen each other since our last in person convention in May, 2019, so the upcoming celebration at the Embassy Suites Hotel, (UsF/Busch Gardens), beginning on October 1st can’t come soon enough. Not everyone has been able to attend all of the Convention planning meetings or has received all of the emails going out, so Sunrise and Shine, with our unique start time, will afford an opportunity to have your questions answered. Our umbel little Sunrise family will be hosting a Friday night social event at convention, so let’s talk about how we can have just as much fun after sunset as we do at sunrise!

If you’re not going to be able to join with the NFB of Florida in Tampa, we’d all still be thrilled if you’d join us tomorrow for ‘Rise and Shine. If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past year and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine last year. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call at our NFB Newsline of Florida toll-free support line. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
