It is time for the 2022 National Federation of the Blind of Georgia 49th
Annual State Convention

When: Friday, October 7th through Sunday, October 9th, 2022 

Where: Sheraton Atlanta Hotel at 165 Courtland Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30303

Registration Information

Registration is now open until September 22, 2022. Flexible registration
rates have been provided to accommodate your needs. Please choose the option
that is best for you.

*	Registration including lunch is $40.00
*	Banquet ticket is $60.00
*	Registration and Banquet ticket is $100.00

Hotel Reservations 

Sheraton Atlanta is a beautiful hotel located in downtown Atlanta Georgia,
offering distinctive amenities that indulge travelers in incomparable
luxury. Enjoy fine cuisines and cocktails at the acclaimed Fandangles. This
hotel is sure to provide an enjoyable experience.

The room rate for singles, doubles, and handicap rooms is $145.00 per night,
including all taxes and fees. This rate is based on room availability, so
please make your reservations quickly to guarantee you receive a room in our
block. When making a reservation, tell the hotel that you are with the
National Federation of the Blind of Georgia, the NFB of Georgia or NFBGA.

What are the convention dates?

What is the convention location?

What is the reservation information?

The room rate is $145.00 per night, which includes all taxes and hotel fees 

The deadline for reserving your rooms is Thursday, September 22nd, and any
cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to check in to avoid being charged
for the night. 

How do you reserve a room?

When booking a room(s), what is the group name that needs to be used?

Please remember to mention that you are with the NFB of Georgia, National
Federation of the Blind of Georgia or NFBGA

What room types are available for the convention?

The NFBGA Block includes singles, doubles, and wheelchair accessible rooms.
As long as there is availability the guest can be placed in those rooms. 

What are the incidental fees for the hotel?

The incidental hold is $250 and the hold will be released upon checkout if
there are no incidents

What time is check in and check out at the hotel?

Check-in begins at 4:00pm EST. Check-out is 12:00pm EST.

Are there any fees for parking at the hotel?

Self-parking is at a discounted rate of $25 and applies to all that are
attending our convention activities. If you stay over at the hotel the $25
will be charged per night.

Does the hotel have talking elevators?

The hotel does not have talking elevators

Does the hotel have restaurants on site?

Yes, the hotel does have a restaurant on site. 

The hotel also has a lunch market that provides several grab and go items.
It is open during a select time over the weekend. 

Will breakfast be offered to convention attendees?

No, all attendees will be responsible for their own breakfast

Does the hotel restaurant offer braille and/or large print menus?

The restaurant manager may be able to provide large print menus. There is a
QR code that can be used on a cell phone to offer easier accessibility. 

Are talking menus available on in room TVs?

No, because room service is not provided this service is not available.

Are masks required to be worn during the convention?

We are strongly suggesting that mask be worn during the entirety of the
convention.

Are dining options available within walking distance of the hotel?

Yes, there are several restaurants within walking distance. You will have to
ask at the hotel desk as to what is available and nearest to the hotel.

What is the cost of registration?

Registration cost is $20, without lunch, and $40, if you would like to
purchase a lunch

What is the price of the banquet?

Banquet cost is $60

What are the menu choices for the banquet?

Fried Chicken 

Baked Fish

Vegetable Pasta

These meals will come with two vegetables, salad, bread, dessert along with
tea and coffee., ,

What is the convention itinerary?

We will advise you as to when the agenda is available on line. And you may
ask your Chapter and/or  Division President for agenda information.

Will breakout rooms be available?

Yes, we will have several breakout rooms set up.

Will transportation assistance be provided for those outside of metro
Atlanta?

No, everyone is responsible for their own transportation

What amenities do the hotel rooms have?

Refrigerator, no microwave

Is room service available?

The hotel currently does not offer room service. 

What is the hotel's policy for food delivery services?

Hotel guests may utilize several food deliveries options such as Postmates,
UberEATS, etc. The guests will have to come to the lobby to pickup their
orders. 

Where are guide dog relief areas?

The guest will have to take their dogs to the grassy areas on the side of
the hotel. 

Is Paratransit available?

Yes, each person will have to register individually with MARTA to take
advantage of these services

The cost of Paratransit is $4.00 per trip

Are there any MARTA stations near the hotel?

Yes, The Peachtree Center MARTA station is located within a few blocks of
