>
> Ron Burzese is an accomplished cyclist, who happens to be blind.
>
> Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA and Clearwater, FL, Ron became interested in bicycles, as an offshoot of his interest in car-centric icons like CHiPs and Smokey & the Bandit. Yet, with ever decreasing amounts of eyesight, caused by Retinitis Pigmentosa, Ron developed a love-hate relationship with cycling.
>
> After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Clearwater Christian College, Ron attended the Louisiana Center for the Blind, where he came out of the closet as a blind person.
>
> Becoming a certified Orientation & Mobility Instructor in Minneapolis, Ron realized that a very important part of his life was missing. After much internal conflict and sound counsel from friends, Ron stepped out on faith and ordered his first tandem bicycle. Within a few months, he had ridden himself into fitness, and joined a local bike club.
>
> From there, Ron has gone on to ride from LA to Boston, in 32 days, as well as winning several medals in Texas state, national, and even a world championship.
>
> /Ron now lives in Sacramento with his bride, Judi. They serve actively in their local Calvary Chapel in counseling, prayer, and men’s ministry. Of course, they still enjoy riding together with friends and promoting a healthy lifestyle through cycling.
>
> Ron remains an auto enthusiast, modifying their Honda Civic and attending occasional car shows. They are also interested in political talk radio and documentaries.
>
> Ron can be contacted at rrburzese at gmail.com <mailto:rrburzese at gmail.com> as well as on facebook.
