I did respond with concerns of another email. I responded to you in private and the Respond response from that email came back on the list serve. I did request, in private, a meeting with the board.

Hello Linda,

This message went to the entire list serv which is over 200 members. It would have been more appropriate to write Anna off list regarding the concerns. I will address this at this times since it was brought to the entire list.

Only 2 NFB of SC board members expressed interest in the legislative breakfast via text or email. One of them was myself. Yes, even as president, I sent an email to let Anna and Elizabeth know I would be willing to serve in some role at the breakfast.

Holding folks accountable and setting deadlines is important. The NFB of SC board as leaders needs to lead by example.

Committees are appointed by the president to fulfill the mission and programs of the NFB of SC.

Anna and Elizabeth as co-chairs are carrying out what they have been appointed to do.

We have 15 board members which is very large for an affiliate. Most affiliates have about 9 board members. The national board has 15 members. If Anna and Elizabeth held 15 positions for all board members to attend and they were not able to attend for whatever reason, those spots could have been designated to someone else. Also, there are things that go on behind the scenes that everyone is not aware of including the fact that we have been asked by our connection to wear name badges. This will entail a cost. Again, if we make 15 name badges for all board members and they cannot attend, we could have saved that money and put it toward something else the affiliate may need.

Anna and Elizabeth are more than happy to speak to the board at any time.

Please let’s remember to direct our questions to individuals off the list serv so that it does not clutter our inbox. It is also not a good appearance for all to read the back and forth especially if it involves only one or two individuals.

We are looking forward to our legislative breakfast. There will be more opportunities for folks to get involved in different projects, programs, activities, and events. Join committees participate in events that you have a passion for and let’s go build the Federation!

Make it a great day!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Bazer, President, NFB of SC

Dear Anna, I feel like a portion of this email is totally disrespectful to your board. I feel like we all need to have a board meeting. This is total disrespect.

Hello, my Federation family!

The 2022 Legislative Breakfast is quickly approaching, so whether you are a social butterfly, a knowledgeable legislative speaker, a technically savvy video editor, or a well-organized behind-the-scenes supporter, and you would like to attend the Legislative Breakfast, the deadline to let me know is by noon today! Two emails have already gone out so this is your final reminder!!

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, spots to attend this in-person only event are limited. We estimate that only 15-20 Federationists will be able to attend.

Please remember: if you are interested in contributing to the event either through preparation work or in-person attendance, you must contact me directly via email at annahprice97 at gmail.com <mailto:annahprice97 at gmail.com> by today. If I have not replied to your interest email, I did not receive it and you need to send it again. Please also remember, nobody's attendance is to be assumed, regardless of previous experience with the event, attendance of the event, or position in the state affiliate by any means. Everyone must reach out to me in writing by noon today.

Please note that there are a variety of roles and responsibilities available, so if you are at all interested, please reach out. We will not know that you hope to attend unless you communicate that to me directly. Again, If you don't let me know you want to attend, your name will not go on the attendees list and you WILL NOT be admitted to the event.

Again, while we sincerely wish we could have everyone join us in-person, that is simply not possible this year, so we encourage interested individuals to reach out. Rest assured that if you are not selected to attend the event this year, you will have another chance next year.

If you have questions about the 2022 Legislative Breakfast, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you!

Anna
