Know Before You Go: Review the Latest Convention Updates


We are a month away from convention! The 2022 National Convention of the National Federation of the Blind is almost here. Please review the information below to help you prepare for your time in New Orleans. This is the first of several emails you will receive with details and important notices. We encourage you to share this information with chapter members who may not receive emails.

COVID Safety & Testing Protocols


We are committed to delivering a safe and welcoming national convention experience. Thank you for doing your part by becoming familiar with the COVID-19 testing protocols. Any changes to this policy made prior to the convention will be communicated on the convention website and in email to registered participants. Here is an outline and link to the full protocols information:

*     All attendees will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival onsite.

*     All attendees are asked to be fully masked (mask covering the nose and mouth and properly fitted to the face) in all convention activities.

*     All attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing whenever possible throughout convention.

*     If at any time during convention week you begin to experience symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please self-isolate, notify NFB staff, and get tested yourself.

Start Building Your Itinerary


The agenda is coming out soon and will be part of the next round of convention details. But you can begin preparing for various activities including the Rookie Roundup, child care, and more.


Rookie Roundup—Great for First Time Attendees & for a Refresh


You are cordially invited to attend a reception from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. Central on Tuesday, July 5. President Riccobono and many Federation leaders will be on hand to welcome you to the convention and preview the week’s activities. 


Separate Registration Activities


Some convention activities require separate enrollment or registration. Prepare for child care, the Career Fair, or legal office appointments.

*     The Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in New Orleans and requires a separate registration by June 21. *     Disability rights attorneys will be available at NFB22 to discuss blindness discrimination concerns regarding employment, technology, education, voting, and more.
