	June 22, 2022

Memo To: NFB of SC Chapter & Division Presidents and Members

From: David Houck, Donald C. Capps Award Chairman

	Dear Fellow Federationists:

Time is drawing ever closer to our 66th NFB of SC state convention!
I trust that many of you have already called in your reservation at
the North Charleston Marriott for August 25 to 28 and that you have
paid your convention preregistration fee and registered online at
nfbofsc.org.

With so many things happening at our state convention, one of the
highlights is the Saturday evening Banquet. One of the activities
where you can get involved is nominating the 2022 recipient of the
Donald C. Capps Award!

We are looking for that NFB of SC member who “does their fair
share and then some.” We are searching for that member who not only
works with their local chapter but is involved with the NFB of SC,
Rocky Bottom and/or the NFB nationally. I know from personal
observation that there are many who deserve this award, both blind and
sighted federationists. Please nominate those who have never received
the award before. I can verify that if you need to know.

Here is all that you need to do:

	1. Send me an email or mail me a detailed letter stating who you are
nominating and the reasons you believe your nominee should win this
award (which comes with a plaque and a $100 bill).

	2. email to: nfbsc at sc.rr.com [1] or mail to Donald C. Capps Award,
119 S. Kilbourne Rd., Columbia, SC 29205 to be received by no later
than Friday August 5 so that the award committee can review and select
the recipient.

	3. Remember: The nominee must attend the N. Charleston NFB of SC
Convention Banquet Saturday evening, August 27 to receive the award.
