[NFBofSC] Senior Division meeting minutes 3/17/22

Here are the minutes for the Senior Division’s meeting which was held on March 17th.

The meeting was called to order at 2:04 pm. 12 members were present.
The Guest Speaker was Andy Burstein, CEO of Accessible Pharmacy for the Blind. Andy gave an overview of the Pharmacy as being
a comprehensive, home delivery pharmacy service specializing in the needs of people who are blind, Deaf/Blind or have low vision. They are the only provider of its kind and the largest blind-owned healthcare company in the country.
In addition to prescription medication, they also supply: Vitamins & supplements, over-the-counter drugs, diabetic supplies, guide dog & pet medication and small, accessible medical equipment.
They offer free accessible packaging . They can find the packaging that is right for you, with a wide variety of options to choose from.
Accessible Labeling is also available. It can be a Large font or Braille. It can be used with ScripTalk or
WayTag and they are working with OrCam now.
They can teach you how to use the current continuous glucose monitors on the market, as well as Glucometers.

Other Business
$923.50 was raised for the 50/50 raffle fundraiser.
Our President was the winner and she gave half of her earnings ($261.00) back to the Division.

4.Treasurer’s Report
The Division currently has $1004.75 in the bank.

A new Fundraiser should be started in May and continued until convention time. Members were encouraged to give the President a call for ideas for a new fundraising project.

Senior Camp will be held April 24-28. The deadline to submit an application has been extended to April 1. The application contains a section for your Doctor to complete. Transportation will be provided.
0ur next meeting will be May 19 at 2:00 pm.
