[NFBofSC] Three Statewide Boards

The below information is in response to Kris Crawley's request and for
general information for our membership.

 

National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina State Board

This board has 15 members and can be thought of as having three parts.

 

Executive Officers

Marty McKenzie                               President

Lenora Robertson                            First Vice President

Debra Canty                                       Second Vice President

Shannon Cook                                   Secretary

Valerie Warrington                          Treasurer

 

District Reps: The counties each district covers can be found in the NFB of
SC Constitution on www.nfbofsc.org <http://www.nfbofsc.org> .

Andrew Adams                                 District Two Rep

Derique Simon                                  District Three Rep

Demetrius Williford                         District Four Rep

Linda Dizzley                                      District Five Rep

At Large Board Members

Ed Bible - elected in odd numbered years

Isaiah Nelson - elected in odd numbered years

Kris Crawley - elected in even numbered years

Thom Spittle - elected in even numbered years

 

The executive officers from the state board automatically serve on both the
Rocky Bottom and the Federation Center boards as well.

There is not a treasurer.  David Houck presents the financial report at
these meetings as the Executive Director of the Federation Center.

The board meetings are returning to in-person for the most part.  Usually,
the chair of each board would publicize all open meetings and provide where,
when, and how guests can join.  Of course, if a meeting is closed, it will
not be open to anyone but board members.  

 

I will defer to Steve Cook regarding the At-Large Board Members not being on
the website.
