[NFBofSC] Friendly reminder... Braille Literacy Committee meets Monday evening!

Hello, all.
The Braille Literacy Committee will meet on Monday evening at 6:30pm on the
Palmetto zoom platform. Even if you've not attended meetings before and
have interest in joining, please feel free to attend. We are looking into
the possibility of a project that even some non-committee members of the
affiliate might be interested in. Please see below for the agenda and join
us!

·       Brief introductions

·       Brief update on the Braille Readers are Leaders final tallies and
status of prizes

·       Mention BELL Academies (SC feeding into national in-home program
this summer and will try to revamp for 2024)

·       Initiatives:

1.  Briefly Revisit Info session during pre-conference exhibit hall at
state convention – please let Jamie and Shelley know if you plan to attend
state convention and are willing to help

2.  Greeting/holiday card ideas still on hold for now

3.  Slate pal pairing program; also on hold for now

4.  New idea/project – A podcast hosted by the Braille Literacy Committee
to include a panel discussion on functional usage of Braille with readers
of varying experience and proficiency; and inspirational passages read by a
variety of Braille readers spanning varying ages, backgrounds, and levels
of proficiency.
