Research Title: Career Mentorship & Labor Force Participation

Being conducted by: Mississippi State University

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of our study is to examine how mentoring relationships (or
receiving career mentoring) influences labor force participation. We hope to
learn about the characteristics of successful mentoring relationships that
have helped people who are blind or have low vision with employment. We also
hope to learn if the quality of the mentoring relationship differs based on
relationship characteristics, such as how the relationship was established
(e.g., formal or informal, workplace mentor or not), or if
similarities/differences between mentee and mentor (e.g., gender, age,
career field, blind/low vision) shape employment.

Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the Study

Participants will complete an online, accessible survey that is expected to
take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Proposed Participant Compensation

Eligible participants who complete the survey may opt in for a drawing to
win one of three $100 electronic gift cards.
