The NFB of SC Braille Literacy Committee is offering a prize drawing at the
state convention this coming weekend. To make an entry, you can do one of
these choices:
1. Find a Braille item at the exhibit hall, such as a contact card, info
leaflet, or other item that is written or identified in Braille and write
your name somewhere on it to turn in.
2. Find an item for sale in the exhibit hall that has Braille on its
packaging, decode the name of the product, and write it onto a piece of
paper or a note card along with your name.
Want an EXTRA CHANCE to win? If you turn in your item with your name/answer
written or slated IN BRAILLE, your name will be put into the drawing 2
TIMES! If you chose to print it or have someone do so, it will go in for 1
time.
Turn this in to one of the Braille Literacy Committee members before the
close of evening session on Saturday, August 16th. A list of the members is
below:
Jamie Allison
Shelley Coppel
Tracy Spittle
Lenora Robertson
Linda Dizzley
Now, for the prize... this item has been a very hot topic across the blind
community, especially on social media, in the past few weeks. Would you
like to have one of the newly released inclusive Barbie dolls that features
a white cane for your very own? If so, get those entries turned in to one
of our members and you will have a chance to win it!
There are no other rules; any convention attendee may enter. Please spread
the word with those who are not on the email list and we will try to make
sure it gets announced a couple of times beforehand as well. A winner will
be drawn for and announced sometime before the close of convention on
Sunday.
Happy Brailleing! Let's get those fingers moving!
