Tribute to fallen Federationists 2023-2024

In memory's embrace, we gather here,
To honor the spirits we hold dear.
Seven souls whose light shone bright,
Now rest in peace, beyond our sight.

Essie Kaney,from Belvedere,
Departed on a September tear.
Your kindness and your gentle grace,
In our hearts will hold a special place.

Marion Dolores Schuler, strong and true,
>From Upper Dorchester, we remember you.
In September's end, you took your flight,
Guided by the stars through the silent night.

Aletha Capers, from Sumter's side,
In October, you crossed the divide.
Your courage and your loving ways,
Illuminate our darkest days.

Alma Brown, mother of Upper Dorchester’s light,
In November's quiet, you took your flight.
A guiding star, a beacon bright,
In Loretta’s heart, you shine each night.

Derek Pope, from At Large, you soared,
In February, to Heaven’s door.
Your laughter and your endless cheer,
Echo still, though you’re not here.

Shantika Dawkins, young and sweet,
Cherokee’s loss, in April’s heat.
Daughter of Grady and Wanda’s love,
Now watches over from above.

Martin Houck, from Columbia’s land,
In July, you left, but we understand.
Son of David and Darlene’s pride,
In our memories, you’ll abide.

Together, we remember, mourn, and praise,
The lives they lived, their vibrant days.
Though they’ve departed, they are near,
In every heart, in every tear.

We honor them with love and light,
Their spirits soaring, free from night.
In this circle, bound by grace,
We feel their presence in this place.
