Subject: [Nfbnet-members-list] Fwd: Oracle User Experience Research at NFB
Convention
What is the purpose of this UX research?
Oracle's mission is to help people see data in new ways, discover insights,
and unlock endless possibilities. As part of our accessibility commitment,
we include blind or low vision (BLV) people across the entire design process
to help us make Redwood much more accessible. This will help us build
foundational knowledge about BLV users, identifying opportunities for
design, iterating on ideas inflight, and ultimately evaluating what we've
built. Specifically, the goal of the research is to understand the needs,
challenges, and pain points of BLV users in the workplace, and as they
relate to complex data consumption.
What does participation in this research look like?
A typical session will be a 1-on-1 interview, lasting 30 minutes, in an
effort to understand your needs and challenges in the workplace specifically
related to complex data consumption.
What incentive will participants receive?
Qualifying participants will receive a premium picnic blanket and tote bag
as a thank-you gift
Who qualifies to participate?
* Blind or low vision (BLV) professionals
* As part of the work you do, you use data or BI or analytics
* You rely heavily on an assistive technology to get your work done.
How can one sign up?
Email Anil Lewis alewis at nfb.org <mailto:alewis at nfb.org> and express your
intent to participate. We will schedule interviews during the convention on
the hour and half hour on July 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and July 6-8
from Noon-1:30 P.m. Let us know the dates and times you are available and we
will schedule you for a time slot if available. . We would like to talk to
up to 25 participants during the convention. We will also be developing a
waiting list of individuals we will follow-up with after the convention
Participants will be required to sign a waiver (A digital copy of the waiver
will be provided). The conversation will be recorded for note-taking
purposes.
Please consider participating. It is important that our perspectives be
taken into consideration to ensure equal access and ease of use for the
blind.
Sincerely,
Anil
