Subject: [NFBofSC] David Martin Houck killed n accident - Update

Our 41 year old oldest son, David Martin Houck was killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday.
When Darlene and I came to work at the Federation Center 412 years ago, Martin was only 2 months old. He had attended Columbia Chapter meetings, canvassed selling BBQ tickets annually, state and national conventions and even the Washington Seminar. Below is an article on his passing in Minnesota:

A motorcyclist from North Carolina was killed in a collision with a road grader in southern Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says David Houck, 41, of Durham, was westbound on I-90 in Rock County when he struck the road grade that was in a construction zone at around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Houck, who was riding a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The State Patrol says he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the road grader was not injured.

He was married to Julianna Houck but was divorced not too long ago. They had no children. Martin lived in Durham, NC and worked with Cisco Systems out of Carey, NC. He traveled extensively and last Fall took a 2 week tour on his motorcycle throughout Yellowstone National Park. He just traveled to Minnesota to attend a biker rally before the accident. We love and miss Martin and covet your prayers. Our younger son, Kevin will be the xecutor and our understanding is that funeral services and burial will take place here in Columbia, SC. More details to come later.
