Dear Federation Family,

 

On Thursday, November 28, 2025, we celebrated another Thanksgiving Day.
Special friends shared that their family spends the month of November
identifying things that they are thankful for from the past year. What are
you thankful for? There are so many things that I cannot possibly name them
all. I am deeply grateful for the National Federation of the Blind and its
impact on every blind person not only in the United States, but potentially
the entire world! The importance of our movement cannot be understated or
overshared. Take time to share with family and friends what you are thankful
for this year.

 

For those who celebrate Christmas, today is the first day of Advent, the
four Sundays leading up to Christmas. It is a season of great excitement and
celebration as Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the
world. With all of this comes many chapter Christmas parties. I cannot
attend them all, but I am happy to provide a recorded greeting that you can
share at your party. There are board members who may be able to attend as
representatives from the State Office. If you want such a recording, please
let me know and I will tailor it to your chapter.

 

Palmetto Connects

The next Palmetto Connects is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at
8:00 p.m. on the NFB of SC Zoom platform. The phone number is 929-205-6099
and the meeting ID is 803 254 3777#. If you are using the Zoom app on your
computer, phone or tablet, activate the Join button and enter the above
meeting ID without the # sign. The passcode is 124578 for use with these
devices. Continue to encourage members to participate in this monthly
meeting so that we can improve our attendance.

 

Pillow Auction to Benefit Federation Center of the Blind

The drawing is Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 12 noon. This
fifteen-by-fifteen inch plush pillow measures six inches deep with a soft
cushion and features a supple cloth exterior. Each of the four borders
displays a beautiful orange, green, blue and white square design. The top of
the pillow is white with the NFB logo hand-stitched into the fabric in two
each, reflective green, blue and orange "Whozits." This pillow will make a
great conversation starter on the sofa, chair or on a shelf. You will not
want to miss out on winning this fantastic Federation pillow! Oh, by the
way, inside the back flap of the pillow there is an assortment of gift cards
just in time for Christmas! Bids on this pillow will be accepted by emails

At-Large Chapter Fundraiser

The At-Large Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of South
Carolina is holding an iPad Drawing Fundraiser to support its programs and
outreach. The prize is a new 11-inch Apple iPad with an A16 chip and 128 GB
of storage. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20. Payments can be mailed to
Ed and Julie Bible, 136 Penny Lane, Lexington, SC 29073, or sent by PayPal

Saturday, January 10, 2026, during the Statewide Seminar, and participants

The Rock Hill Chapter is selling tickets on a beautiful hand-made quilt
quilted by Ms. Pearline Barber. Tickets are one for $5 or three for $10.

Rock Hill Chapter members to get your tickets. Due to increased interest,
