***Please be aware that our previous Zoom link has changed slightly. The PMI
number remains the same, but a passcode has been added to make entering the
room easier for both you and the hosts. The url link already contains the
passcode, but if you are dialing in by phone or entering the PMI number
directly, yu'll need to reference the passcode in this email***

Good morning, Sunrise and Shine Family!

My apologies for the late notice/email regarding tomorrows Zoom call for
Sunrise and Shine, but when you go days without email, internet or cell
service, the world seems to spin backwards. So glad that all of those issues
for me seem to have been resolved and the sun is rising in the east and
setting in the west again.

As promised during our last Sunrise and Shine gathering in June, we will be
getting together tomorrow, Thursday, July 24th at 9:00 AM, (Eastern), to
discuss and extremely important topic. We'll have a wonderful special guest
with us too.

Those who are blind and low vision, (that would be most of us reading this
email), use orientation and mobility skills each and every day. We employ
our own brand of skills and put our own stamp on how we get up and around,
(whether inside our homes or out in the world). I've spent a great deal of
time thinking about O&M skills this year and realized that we've never
really focused on orientation and mobility on Sunrise and Shine with
NFB-NEWSLINE since our regular meetings began over five years ago. I don't
know how that happened, but I am so glad that we will be adding this missing
piece to our long list of topics inventory.

Our call tomorrow morning will be one of those awesome calls where everyone
is encouraged to contribute their experiences and thoughts about our
featured discussion topic. Your attendance and willingness to chime in will
help make the call a huge success.

I've noticed that our calls are much more popular and interesting when we
have special guests join us and so, you'll be glad to know that tomorrow we
will welcome Leslie Hoskins, from Leader Dogs for the Blind. I was so
fortunate to have met Leslie in person two months ago, when I was on the
Leader Dogs campus in Michigan for an intensive week-long Orientation and
Mobility class. Pursuing this training opportunity this year might just have
been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Leslie is a Certified
Orientation and Mobility Specialist, (COMS), and currently manages the
Outreach Services and Community Engagement offices at Leader Dogs. Her
experience in the field of O&M will allow her to provide you with some
extremely valuable information, even if you don't have an interest currently
in attending a training near or far from your home.

As a bonus, I am hoping that on our call tomorrow morning, we will be able
to sneak in some stories from those who were present in New Orleans or
Dallas earlier this month at one of the national conventions. I can't wait
to hear what folks have to say.

Tomorrow's call will be one of those that you don't want to miss.

If you haven't been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for
coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you've been missing.
We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and
for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the
Zoom platform over the past few years and in fact, we've been using Zoom
since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th2020. If you're not
used to using Zoom or if it's still giving you difficulties, don't give up
just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web
link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number
provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to
see new faces.

Hope to have you with us this Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the
call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
