📢 YOU’RE INVITED! JOIN THE CONVERSATION!
NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF BLIND BLACK LEADERS
YOUNG ADULTS GROUP
DISCUSSION TOPIC:
“Where Do I Fit In? Finding Belonging, Fair Treatment, and New Possibilities”
📅 DATE: Monday, October 19, 2026
🕗 TIME: 8:00 PM Eastern
💻 LOCATION: Zoom
Everyone deserves to feel accepted, respected, valued, and included. However, there are times when life experiences leave us questioning where we belong, whether we are being treated fairly, and why certain opportunities seem out of reach.
As blind individuals, we often encounter challenges that go beyond blindness itself. From discrimination and transportation barriers to limited employment opportunities and a lack of understanding about our abilities, these experiences can influence our confidence, personal growth, and future goals.
Join the National Organization of Blind Black Leaders Young Adults Group for an open and engaging roundtable discussion where we will share experiences, exchange perspectives, and explore ways to overcome challenges while recognizing new possibilities for ourselves and our communities.
💬 LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!
🔹 Finding acceptance, building confidence, and developing a sense of belonging.
🔹 Addressing discrimination, unfair treatment, and barriers within our communities.
🔹 Understanding equality, inclusion, and what meaningful opportunities should look like.
🔹 Overcoming fear, self-doubt, and the limitations others may place on our abilities.
🔹 Exploring opportunities in education, employment, leadership, and personal development.
🔹 Strengthening self-advocacy and learning how we can better support one another.
QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT:
Have you ever felt qualified for an opportunity but were overlooked because of your blindness? Have you ever questioned whether someone truly understood your abilities or potential? What does belonging mean to you, and what changes would help create a more inclusive community?
This is not a lecture or formal presentation. It’s an opportunity to have an honest conversation, hear different perspectives, and share experiences that others may relate to. Whether you choose to speak or simply listen, your presence is welcome.
YOUR VOICE MATTERS. YOUR EXPERIENCES MATTER. YOUR PERSPECTIVE MATTERS.
We look forward to having you join us for an evening of meaningful discussion, encouragement, and connection.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
