Once the national office received this information, dues paying members listed on the spread sheet would be receiving a membership coin which will signify you as a member of the NFB. This membership coin is replacing the membership cards once used by our national organization. During the next seven days, we are mailing each chapter and division president membership coins to be distributed at your next chapter or division meeting. Only those names of individuals who were initially submitted to the state office as dues paying members shall receive a membership coin. Those persons who were not included on the original list of dues paying members provided to the state office at the beginning of the year, will need to fill out a new membership form which can be found online at https://www.nfb.org/civicrm/newmember/form. This form is meant to be used by the designated person in your chapter or division such as the membership committee chairperson. If you feel assistance is needed to complete this form, you can call David Houck at (803) 254-3777 and he can help you with the new membership form. The online form will (1) ensure that the NFB’s central Connections database has all member information; (2) trigger welcome emails to go to the new member; (3) notify affiliate presidents of new members; and (4) prompt mailing of the new-member packet, which will include a print/Braille membership certificate and the membership coin.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this new membership initiative, please contact David Houck at (803) 254-3777 or nfbsc@sc.rr.com.
