The chapter was organized on April 14, and the chapter held its first monthly meeting on May 12. The purpose of the chapter is to provide blind South Carolinians who are unable to participate in the activities of a local chapter, the opportunity to play a role in the NFB of South Carolina, to promote the general welfare of the blind of the state and of the nation, and to function as an integral part of the National Federation of the Blind. Officers elected were Ed Bible President, David Bundy Vice President, Mary Sonksen Secretary, and Dondra Bible Treasurer. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Please continue to register for the 2020 NFB national convention which will be held everywhere July 14-18. The deadline to register is June 15, 2020. Registration for this year’s national convention is free. If you do not register, you will not be eligible to receive a door prize during the general sessions of the convention. During the national leadership Zoom meeting held on Sunday evening, May 17, President Riccobono reported approximately 2,000 individuals have already registered for the convention.
