<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Bob Bell was known statewide and nationally. Bob was a member of the Federation for almost 45 years. He has the distinction of serving as President of two chapters,
initially in Greenville and then in Laurens. His impressive career includes serving as state President in the 1980's, as Chairman of RBRCCB and he served as a board member of RBRCCB. He also served many years as the Director of Senior Camps at RBRCCB. Bob
served as a state officer and was Chairman of the Ellen Beach Mack Home Award Committee. For a number of terms, Bob served on the Board of Commissioners of the SC Commission for the Blind where he was always loyal to the agency without compromising his support
and position in the NFB of SC. Bob was the founder of the Robert R. Bell Federation Center of the Blind, established in 1981. An Advisory Board provides worthwhile input to the Center. Bob was highly regarded in his community. In November 2008, Bob was honored
by his church where he was a member for a long time. The plaque presented to Bob reads as follows, "Presented to Robert R. Bell in recognition of years of devoted and dedicated service to Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, November 8, 2008." This church was
where Bob was buried (2014) and later his wife Doris (2019) was buried there as well. Bob was also elected Elder Emeritus. Bob and his wife Doris have a nice family consisting of two sons and several grandchildren.
