<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We begin this Positive Note with the sad news that long-time Federationist, Scott Labarre, lost his battle with cancer. Scott served as the national representative to the NFB
of SC State Convention in 2021 and was well known for his work on the PAC committee. All who attended national conventions in the last few years heard Scott as he energized the convention to either begin or in crease their PAC contributions. He was a successful
lawyer in his home state of Colorado and litigated some very important cases. Please keep his wife and 2 children in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">There is another week of Christmas and holiday parties and then the season will conclude for 2022. Several chapters, including the Columbia and Rock Hill chapters, had successful
parties with lots of good food which was enjoyed by all. Of course there were presents for everyone! Please participate and enjoy this time of good will as you are able to do so.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ravenia Glover was born in Beaufort and has lived there all of her life. Beaufort is a very beautiful and historic city located on the Atlantic coast just a few miles north of
Hilton Head Island. Ravenia had a serious allergic reaction to a penicillin injection which caused her blindness when she was only seven years old. She had already completed kindergarten and continued with her education utilizing the public schools. Ravenia
was lucky after all as none other than the immediate past president of our Beaufort Chapter, Ruth Collier, was assigned the responsibility of teaching Braille to Ravenia, serving as her teacher throughout the 12 years Ravenia spent in the Beaufort schools.
Today she is one of the best Braille readers in the state. Ravenia enjoys reading, especially crime novels. After high school graduation she enrolled at USC Beaufort where she received her Associates of Arts degree in 2000 and her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal
Studies in 2006. For some time she worked with the Call Center handling all sorts of complaints. With her excellent background in both the public schools and university training, she no doubt applied her skills to the benefit of the blind. At age seven, Ravenia
was introduced to the Federation by Mrs. Collier and, therefore, she has been a Federationist almost all of her life. She has attended some dozen NFB of SC state conventions and at least four national conventions. She enjoys her church participation. Our
Beaufort Chapter has made reservations to spend time at RBRCCB. Ravenia also participated in the NFB of SC's annual Leadership Training Seminar held in Columbia at the Federation Center.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
