What is the philosophy of the National Federation of the Blind? How is it applied in a blind person’s daily life? What are some misconceptions and myths about our philosophy? <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Our guest speaker will be Roland Allen, who has taught cane travel instruction at the Louisiana Center for the Blind for the past 27 years and served as a residential manager and cane travel instructor for the summer program for teens. He has held many leadership roles in the NFB, including current 2d Vice President of his local chapter and in the past the Board of Directors of the Sports and Recreation Division. He serves as a National Orientation and Mobility Certificate trainer helping mentor those who are preparing to become cane travel instructors.
