Seminar, Sonia Timmons presented her daughter's story about filing a complaint
to report non-working audio description equipment at the local movie theatre. The complaint filed led to the United States Attorney, Civil Rights Division holding the move
theatre accountable for repairs and addressing the issues nationally. The United States Attorney would like to
remind us that the Americans with Disability Act has processes we can follow to
report violations of civil rights.<br></div><div><br></div><div>The ADA is a civil
rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities
in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all
public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of
the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and
opportunities as everyone else.<br></div><div><br></div><div>If you believe that
you or someone else was discriminated against based on a disability, you can
file an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complaint using one of the follow
