In this case, we are trying to ensure that the Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act (TCIEA) is included in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) reauthorization bill that is currently being considered. Right now is a crucial time for this initiative because Congress wants to pass the WIOA reauthorization when they return after Thanksgiving. In the past, our state has had good representation, including a national level prize winner last year! To participate, just track what you’re reading in Braille and for how many minutes each day using the Beanstack database on your computer are smartphone. The number of minutes a participant reads is tracked with a database called Beanstack, which can be accessed either by a computer with the internet or a smartphone app. Registration opens on November 15, 2024.
