Ending the Global Book Famine
Millions of people with disabilities across the world do not have
access to books in formats they can read. That is changing with the
adoption of the Marrakesh Treaty.

The Marrakesh Treaty makes it possible to create accessible versions
of books for all types of readers and to share them across borders
through a copyright exception. Benetech is excited about this prospect
and looks forward to adoption of the treaty globally.

Spring Into Braille Reading Challenge
The Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired is offering a
reading challenge for braille readers (by touch or sight) of all ages
from April 2 through May 31. Bookshare is just one of many ways that
readers can read braille. All participants will receive a certificate
and the chance to win a prize.
