One month left to skate at 2 outdoor rinks

February is your final month this winter to enjoy skating at two
outdoor ice rinks in Cleveland. The rinks close around March 1. Ride
the Rapid to the ice rink on Public Square. Ride the HealthLine to
reach the rink on Wade Oval. Each rink charges a fee, and each offers
rental skates.

Two BRT lines see ridership increase in 2017

Good news! Two of RTA's bus rapid transit (BRT) services saw ridership
increases in 2017. More than 4.2 million customers rode the HealthLine
on Euclid Avenue -- a 4.3 percent increase over 2016. The Cleveland
State Line attracted nearly 700,000 passengers, a 1.4 percent increase
over 2016. The HealthLine, which began service in 2008, celebrates its
10th anniversary this year, and is often viewed as the top BRT system
in North America.

Quicken Loans Arena offers a full slate in February

RTA provides easy transportation to the many events at Quicken Loans
Arena this month. The Monsters skate on home ice 7 times, and the Cavs
play there 5 times. The Q hosts a Feb. 17-18 Monster Jam of giant
trucks, as well as a Feb. 24 rock concert. Just park for free at a
Rapid station, ride in comfort to Tower City and use the Walkway to
reach the Arena. The Walkway opens 3 hours before each event, and at 3
p.m. for Cavalier home games.

Riders on the light-rail Blue Line, Green Line and Waterfront Line
should read these emergency evacuation procedures posted inside every
rail car.
• Listen for instructions from the operator, and follow them.
• Exit the train in an orderly manner.
• Help those in need -- such as children, senior citizens and persons
with disabilities.
• Leave large packages behind.

Exit instructions, written in red, are located on a panel above each
door. Learn how to open the side doors, and to exit the train safely.
