PRESENTERS: Laura A. Gold, J.D. and Katherine Foley, L.S.W., Services for
Independent Living 

OBJECTIVES: A professional development workshop intended to provide
participants with the basic understanding and knowledge necessary to
effectively work

with, communicate with and interact with persons with disabilities. The goal
is to enhance professional practice. Specific topics will include disability

etiquette, person-centered planning and tools to enhance communication,
applicable laws, and barriers to service delivery. 2 Social Work CEUs Cost:

information on applying for benefits and to explain how SSDI, SSI, Medicare

they pertain to service animals, emotional support animals, and other
assistance

animals.
