These are your weekly announcements.

 

Sandra Krems, Community Engagement Chairperson:

Thank you for volunteering! 

Cleveland Chapter of NFB will be volunteering at the Greater Cleveland Food
Bank on Tuesday, May 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Again, thank you for helping
with this event. The event is next Tuesday, so It's time to make
transportation plans.  The address is 15500 South Waterloo, Cleveland. All
10 volunteers have been notified. For questions, please give me a call at

Hi White Cane Walk volunteers!

Thank you for volunteering to represent the Cleveland Chapter of NFB at the
Cleveland Sight Center's White Cane Walk. The walk will be at the Cleveland
Sight Center on Saturday, June 1. The Sight Center has  asked that
volunteers arrive at 8:30 a.m. to set up. We will have a table to pass out
literature. 

Here is the schedule for the day:

8:30 a.m., arrival and  set up. Set up needs to be complete by 9:00 a.m.

9:00 a.m.  to 10:00 a.m. 

Event activities:

People will  engage in various activities, including visiting our NFB table.


10:00 a.m. 

The official White Cane Walk, kick off and walk.  

10:30 a.m. to Noon:

Following the walk, people will participate in fun filled activities,
including visiting the NFB table until the event ends at noon.

Please members who have not paid their dues, do so at the June 21, 2019
meeting; which will be held at the Cleveland Sight Center, 1909 E. 101
Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. In addition, your
deposit for a seat on the Chartered bus to the 2019 State of Ohio Convention
of $25 will be due as well. If you are unable to attend, please mail your
funds with NFB Convention in the memo to

Below you will find information on the National Federation of the Blind of
Ohio's 2019 Ohio State Convention: 

Please make reservations for the State of Ohio Convention now. All are
welcome to attend, teachers, professors, clinicians, parents, family members
and anyone who is interested and have concerns for the blind of Ohio. You
can make your reservations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Columbus/Worthington
Hotel, 175 Hutchinson Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43235. Please call (614)
885-3334 and inform customer care that you want to attend the NFB State of
Ohio Convention. There is something at the convention for everyone. Please
do not be shut out of the main hotel. The hotel price is $89.00 per night.
The total including the tax rate is $104.60

Cleveland is chartering a bus to the 2019 State of Ohio Convention. The
round trip fee is $65.00. A $25.00 deposit is due by June 21, 2019. Seats
will be opened up to area Chapters on June 22, 2019. So reserve your seat
soon.

(216) 658-4532.

 

Note: Note:

If you wish to order food and fellowship prior to the meeting, please come
one hour prior; which is 2:00 P.M. All meetings are structured and will be
in order right at 3:00 P.M. So, I will see those who wish to socialize at
2:00 P.M. Thank you for your cooperation and bring your family and or friend
to learn about our organization!

 

June 22, 2019:

The seats on the chartered bus will be open to the Cuyahoga and the Greater
Akron Chapters to claim a seat.

August Chapter meeting and the remainder of the funds for the chartered bus
