[NFBOH-Cleveland] Congratulation's Ryan!

Thank you all for your support. I did not realize it is not easy for someone with a disability to become employed in a hospital. Every job application I look at says we must reach out to and hire people with disabilities. But I'll be honest, I don't often find people with significant disabilities working at these places. I will be an associated customer service specialist scheduling appointments which means I'll have to learn some medical things as Suzanne mentioned. I will keep you all posted on my progress. Thank you all for your support!

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ryan on his new employment endeavor.

  

As an employment coordinator and benefit counselor at the Cleveland Sight Center partnering with employers at healthcare facilities, hospitals and other medical entities were quite difficult to place blind applicants. However, it is an honor to provide you with Ryan who has broken the mold.

  

Ryan, I and the Cleveland Chapter are so proud of you. We wish you great success; as I know the Ohio membership does as well.

Hi Suzanne,

I just wanted to inform you that I have found a new job! I will be starting at University Hospitals as an associate customer service specialist on Monday August 31st. So I'm pretty excited. I hope you and your family and Lauren are all doing well.

As many of you know, as a hire in a medical field, like a major hospital in Customer Service is a wonderful opportunity to serve the blind, disabled patients, seniors and others. What a wonderful way to give back and tell how the organization provides encouragement, support and services for the blind. Hospital records, linking services and working alongside of physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers will be equally rewarding. University Hospital and Cleveland Clinic are quite difficult to become employed.
