> Dear Residents,
>
> Happy Holidays! This year is different than years past. The pandemic has affected our lives in a number of ways including spending time with friends and family. While there is good news on the horizon regarding vaccines, I urge you to remain cautious and vigilant. Please avoid large family gatherings for your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

> Here are some announcements made this week:
> This year, City of Cleveland offices including City Hall will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. As the City of Cleveland must ensure the continuity of critical operations, first responders such as Police, Fire and EMS will remain operational. In observance of Christmas and the New Year, the Department of Public Works will not collect waste on Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1, 2021. Waste collection will be delayed by one day following the holiday.
> The City of Cleveland and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress recently announced the launch of Circular Cleveland, a two-year initiative to develop and implement circular economy strategies and programs in Cleveland. The circular economy is a comprehensive approach to provide community-wide benefits by designing waste and pollution out of our economic system, keeping products and materials in use as long as possible, protecting and regenerating natural systems, and creating new jobs. > The City of Cleveland Division of Waste 2021 Bulk Pick-Up schedule is now available. In addition to bulk pick-up dates, the calendar includes information about proper waste set out. To view and download the bulk pick-up calendar, click here.
> I announced that I will hold a press briefing on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 vaccinations. In addition to media questions about the Phase 1A rollout, I will also aim to take a few questions from residents via Facebook Live. The press conference will be livestreamed on the City of Cleveland Facebook page.
> Again, no matter which occasions you are celebrating - Happy Holidays!
