Ohio,

At the Convention, I gave a speech on "Finding A Job During The Pandemic". It was titled, "From Chicken Coop To The Pandemic". But, to my surprise, we have other members who have experiences with chicken coops as well.

I asked them if I could share their story.

Here is Ann and Bret Casey's story.

Subject: Chicken coop

Hi again, Suzanne. Forgot to mention, Bret and I enjoyed that the chicken coop was part of your story and history. Bret’s grandparents lived on a farm and had chickens and so he spent a lot of time in chicken coops too when growing up. And my family had chickens when I was growing up. We did not live on a farm but our neighborhood was such that we could had a chicken coop. I remember how scared I was of the rooster. I still remember the smell and feel of the white grit I had to give the laying hens. And the feel of the big silver bucket that we carried the grit in. What a fun memory! My grandmother even made a parade float for my brothers and they took our chickens in a neighborhood parade! Oh the joys of those experiences! Thanks again for sharing! Anne and Bret Casey
