Cleveland Members,
I can hear, "Go Brown's Go" Somewhat normal, I think?
Well, it is time for our Cleveland Chapter September annual monthly meeting.
We will meet on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. EDT
on Zoom. Please be on time. This meeting will be a business meeting.
However, we will have some fun as well. Use the Zoom info below to join!
Rosa Jones is currently in the hospital. Send up prayers on her behalf!
Please continue to keep our members in your prayers and good wishes as they
go through grief and healing.
Call a member who you have not heard from in a while to see how they are
doing. Let them know that we are thinking of them and hope we all can get
together very soon.
As a reminder, if you have not registered for the 74th Ohio State
Convention, please do so. Also, spread the word for your friends, family,
support groups, church members, teachers co-workers, primary care providers
and others to join us on November 6 thru November 8th for what will be the
largest gathering of blind people in the state.

There will be additional seminars prior to the convention as well. So, keep
a look out!
Cheryl has continually reminded us to register to vote and complete the 2020
census. I hope you have done that. If not, please take time to do so.
Contact her at (216) 566-4317 if you need assistance.
Cleveland members, your dues are essential to the makeup of what we do on
behalf of conducting business. We pay dues as a commitment to the National
Federation of the Blind, uphold our mission and vote on important
nominations and policies. Please mail your dues to Natassha Ricks if you
have not done so. Also, contact members who are not on the ListServe to
remind them that Friday is the deadline for paying. Many have used cash ap
and PayPal to get them in. I am open to this method, no later than Thursday,
September 17, 2020. Call me for details at (216) 990-6199.
If you would like to mail your dues to Natassha Ricks, her address is below.
Please do not forget to call and let her know they are on the way.

The Ohio Association of Blind Seniors is conducting a fundraiser prior to
the convention. If you pay ten dollars, you could be a winner of two hundred
dollars. Every ten dollars paid will put your name in the hat that many
times. For example, I paid fifty dollars, so that my name can be put in the
pot five times. This drawing will be done at the banquet at the convention.
Also, Senior dues are due as well. They are $5 to join. Additionally,
members have used cash ap or PayPal to get those to me as well. I will
submit funds to the treasurer, Gloria Conway. However, you can mail your
dues and funds for the fundraiser directly to Gloria at
16008 Evening Star Avenue,
Maple Heights, Ohio 44137.
Please call her for more info and to notify that you have mailed the funds
at
(772) 882-1654.
Cleveland has been very fortunate with our ideas that have been implemented
to inspire and uplift others across Ohio and around the country. Our State
Affiliate president has been quite supportive and we are grateful for his
openness. So, if you have time, join The Coffee Break CheckIn and Happy Hour
Calls, which are a hit.
Everyday you can participate with the CheckIn Call from 10:00 A.M. to 1030
A.M. to say hello and let us know how you are doing. Then, on every Thursday
at 7:00 P.M. EDT. Participate with music, fun and a great cup of whatever
you like; as we all enjoy one another's company. Both activities are on
Zoom. The info is below how to connect on the call.
In addition, Sharing Solutions will continue its great platform with
informative content. Check this call out every third Sunday on the Ohio
Conference line at (772) 715-7031 and enter code: 240281423. We start at
7:00 P.M. EDT. We hope to see you on September 20, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. EDT.
Congratulations is in order for Ali. Ali was the winner in the Ohio
Association of Blind Students Fundraiser. He walked the most miles and
earned the most funds to support their fundraiser. Thanks to Ali, he has put
Cleveland on the map!
Members, if you have some time this weekend, join the Louisiana Convention.
I will share more details about their agenda as I get it prior to Friday,
September 18, 2020 thru September 20, 2020. If you would like to register,
visit their web page at.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
