Good Sunday Afternoon Cleveland Members,

On this coming Friday, October 15, 2021 at 5:00 PM EST., we will hold our
annual monthly meeting on the Ohio Zoom platform. Please be on time; as we
will have time for some fun with door prizes. Invite a friend.

The Zoom info is below!

Also, we will have a visitor to address the lack of disable voting in
Northeast Ohio. Although, the organization is impartial and do not take
reference with one particular party; it is important that we do take part in
voting.

It is election time for the Cleveland Chapter. If you would like to run for
a office or the Board, please contact William Turner at 330-328-9860 and
indicate the position. These are the officers and Board Seats.

President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and two Board Seats.

Finally, Natassha Ricks is taking dues for 2022, you can mail them to her at
6980 Ladd Lane, Maple Heights, Ohio 44137. Her telephone number is
216-376-9863.

Dues are ten dollars with five dollars for the benevolent funds. So, fifteen
dollars should be mailed or use bill pay online at your bank.

An announcement from Caroline Karbowski

Greetings all,

See3D has been talking with Girls Scouts in Columbus and they invited us to
help with their accessibility themed teen camping event on Saturday October
16 from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm at Camp Crooked Lane in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. I
talked with the director today, and they want both presentations and demos
of blindness accessibility things/Q&A about blindness as well as hands on
activities for the girls. They really liked the idea of writing braille,
learning about See3D and models, and learning about screen readers and
nonvisual skills, especially basic cooking skills like using measuring cups
and bump dots. If anyone is available to come to the event and help out that
would be great. Please let me know if you want to discuss more details.
Also feel free to email if you have ideas and suggestions even if you can't
come.

Cleveland, I, your president will be attending. If anyone from Cleveland is
willing to go with me, let me know. Transportation will be provided. All
scouts are mandated to wear masks and there will be only three to four in
the car going down. You will be safe. Please let me know if you are willing
to participate and educate the scouts about blindness.

assistance getting into the meeting. Also, we are switching, due to the
conference line changing their communication. Please pass along information
of the details. The Ohio Zoom Room Link and info is below.

Gloria to let her know that the funds are on the way. 772-882-1654

Here is a message from our Door Prize Facilitator, Annette Lutz.

Good morning NFB Ohio family!

Yes, Convention is less than four weeks away. Four weeks from right now we
will all be looking back on what I'm sure it will be a wonderful 75th
convention. But some of us will be happier than others. That's because many
folks will be winning door prizes. But, it is up to you how many people Will
be feeling that exhilaration Of having won a prize. We are still taking
donations for door prizes. If you, your chapter or division, or anyone else
you know, would like to donate a door prize, please let me know. You can
email or call me and let me know what you would like to donate. I am sure
one of our lucky attendees is now just dreaming about what prize they could
win. Remember, if you donate a prize, it will be your responsibility to get
it to the winner. After convention I will let everybody who donated know who
their lucky winner was, and share their contact information with them so
that a price can be sent.

Also, if you have not yet registered for convention, please do so by October
27 so that you can be on the list to be eligible to be a possible lucky
winner yourself.

Thanks to all those who have already donated and for those who are planning
to, and good luck to all. See you at convention.

refunds to individuals who said they wanted their banquet ticket payments
transferred over to a different fundraiser. If you are expecting a refund,

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
