Subject: Re: "Where the Blind Work"
Dear NFB of Ohio:
I am interested in contacting David Perry, a Machinest with the Cinncinnanti
Association for the Blind.
David was one of five presenters during the Where the Blind Work, sponsored
by the National organization on Thursday night, October 14, 2021.
In his presentation, David said that he is a Shop Steward for his
work-place, and that the work-place is unionized.
My questions concern When was that particular union established?
I am also interested in at what point in time "sheltered work-shop" workers
were first permitted to unionize.
>From what I have read, I thought workers in sheltered work-shops were NOT
permitted to unionize, because their activities were defined as therapeutic
in nature, and NOT considered Vocational Training.
Sincerely
David Mostello
