Cleveland Members and Friends,

I am so elated with the nice weather we are having. Please go out and take a
walk, see a show or just feel the breeze on your face. All are therapeutic
and mentally stimulating.

Cleveland Members, please keep Annette Anderson's family in your prayers.
She was the President of the Cleveland Chapter at one time. Annette passed
away and she will be missed tremendously. The Ohio Senior Division will hold
a celebration on her life at the Convention during our division meeting.

It is time for Cleveland to rock once again. You know how we do. We are
trail blazers and advocate for those who look like us. So, read this updated
session through to its entirety and if you have questions, let me know by
calling or sending me an email.

All events will be held in the Ohio Zoom Hall.

*	Cleveland will have a guest during our August meeting. Tom Anderson,
a representative from the Shoe Drive Fundraiser will talk to us about this
rewarding and profitable endeavor. He will join around 5:15 PM. So, we will
let him present prior to our meeting.

-

First, we will hold our Chapter meeting on this Friday, August 18th at 5:00
PM in the zoom room. I am highly encouraging all to attend. Please pass the
word on to members who do not have email. Join the Zoom Hall.

-Next, I attended BELL in Columbus last week. The VI Teachers Mariann and
Debbie along with other volunteers really provided wonderful educational
programs for the children. Trainings included, everyday living skills,
mobility, STEM, technology training, music and various field trips. Our own
Affiliate President, Richard Payne filled in where ever was needed,
including helping me in the kitchen with preparing meals, serving and
cleaning duties. After all he ran a full cafeteria for years. I shocked
myself and once again serviced outside of my comfort zone. Nevertheless, I
enjoyed it. However, next year, we need more volunteers to ensure that
members are not burned out and incapable of handling their respective
duties. Even if you can not stay for the entire week, we need you. We are
hoping that we have more students participating as well.

*	Come and join the monthly Sharing Solutions for Vision Loss
teleconference, that will take place Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
Our topic will focus on AARP's suggestions on economical ways to cut down on
your cooling bill . Join the Zoom Hall.

*	On Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 5:00 PM EDT., you are encouraged to
attend, "I Am Ohio Talk". This zoom presentation will focus and celebrate
"Women Equality Day", and what it takes to fight for other people's rights.
We also will honor the successful life of Dr. Isabelle Grant, a pioneer in
the National Federation of the Blind.

Everyone is welcomed and you do not want to miss this powerful and worthy
discussion. Join in the Zoom Hall.

*	Come and participate with Cleveland's Board of Directors as we
spearhead Cleveland's 2023 Fundraiser at the Archwood Neighborhood Sale on
Saturday, September 2nd, at 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The address is 2607 Archwood
Drive. Cleveland will sale gently used and new items. I am asking all
members to spread the word, donate items to sale and come out to make a
purchase. Cleveland members are also needed to help with this exciting
opportunity. We will be in the community not only fundraising, but
advocating for the blind as well. There are several functions available for
you to assist , for example, passing out literature, bagging purchases, and
greeting the public.

*	On September 23, 2023, members are traveling to the host hotel of
the 2023 State Convention for our State Board Meeting. If you would like to
