Cleveland Members,

I trust that you are taking pleasurer in the cooler mornings. My favorite time of the year is near. It is Fall. Hence football, fallen leaves and the Ohio State Convention is what I look forward to in that season.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, the Cleveland Chapter meeting will be held at the Garfield Library. The address is 5409 Turney Road. Please invite a friend. It will also be virtual for those who are a distance away. However, if you are in Cleveland, please come in person.

In 2014, I had the opportunity to attend the National Leadership Seminar in Baltimore at the Jernigan Institute. Former National President, Mark Maurur asked us, “what is the greatest mission of the organization? Actually, there are two.

1. to find the next President and

2. to grow the membership.

Cleveland is certainly growing with new members each year. Consequently, I have received three calls this week from individuals interested in the Cleveland Chapter. Therefore, because we are growing and is quite large. I am implementing a monthly segment so members will learn about one another. Each month there will be topics, and two members will provide insight.

So, The topic for our meeting is ” Ambition and Legacy”. Ponder this,

How does ambition shape the legacy we leave,

and how can the Cleveland Chapter help you fulfill your legacy?

We will have two presenters; Delcenia Brown and Tomeika Hurt on the subject. Also, Jackie Schieman will provide insight on being a guide dog handler. Finally, the Treasurer, Outreach Chair and the Cleveland President has decided to extend the time to secure your seat to DC.

Our agenda will address,

Ohio Affiliate Board Meeting

State Convention, Exhibit Table, Ohio Senior Fundraiser

DC Trip

BEAM

National Convention

KJS

LEAP Partnership

Cleveland School Donation
