Dear Cleveland and Friends,

I have returned from the 2025 National Convention that was held in New
Orleans. I must say that the weather was pretty nice and seeing old friends
and making new ones was even nicer.

I am hoping most of the Cleveland membership will be able to attend the
2026th National Convention, which will be held in Austin Texas. As usual, we
must start preparing now for it.

Cleveland, I have a few announcements.

First, we will hold our August Chapter meeting in August at the Garfield
Library. I will send out a reminder one week prior. The date is August 30th.

Are you ready to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the ADA, as I am!

Here are a few activities:

1: Disability Pride Night, on July 16th starting at 4:00 PM. sponsored by
Youth Challenge and Northeast Ohio Coalition of Disability Organizations.
Several featured performances are the Dancing Wheels and the Community Sign
Choir. And here are a few Vendors, the Feeling Good Ice Cream, The Twisted
Jerk, Braised in the CLE and more.

2: Disability Pride Party, on July 22, 2025 from 5/8PM. The location is the
Forest City Brewery, 2135 Columbus Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. There will
be prizes and swag for purchase. Dinner is available for purchase as well.

The Cleveland Chapter will celebrate the 35th birthday of the ADA in July
and August. Our July event is being worked on, and details are fourth
coming. However, in August, we will cycle around town in our NFB gear and
white canes displaying Disability Pride. There will be two locations where
we will stop to grab a bight to eat and have delicious ice cream at
Mitchells. The fee for the cycle tour is $30 for a two-hour excursion. You
can zelle your funds to "NFB.CLE.Treasurer at gmail.com and put in the memo
cycle. Please contact Natassha for her address if you would like to mail
your funds. Her mobile number is 216-3769863.

Cleveland, we are still looking forward to our DC trip in September. Please
make your hotel reservations and pay for your seat. The round-trip fee is.

$150.00. The bus will travel with 15 or 55 members. This is the trip of a
lifetime. We will tour the Library of Congress, the NFB Jernigan Institute
and the various monuments in DC. Send your funds by zelle at
NFB.CLE.Treasurer at gmail.com and put in the memo
<mailto:NFB.CLE.Treasurer at gmail.com%20and%20put%20in%20the%20memo%20"DC%20Tr

Hercules Road, Annapolis Junction, Maryland 20701. Make reservations by
calling (301) 498-8400, with a room rate of only $109 plus 14% tax per night
for singles and doubles.

Again, please stay tuned for the July event commemorating the ADA.

Finally, I have returned with products that we sold at the National
Convention. So, during the chapter meetings, I will sale Ohio M&M'S and 12
types of Meat Sticks. These are to support the treasury of the Ohio
Affiliate.

It is time to pay dues if you are 50 and older to the Ohio Senior Division.
The dues are $5 yearly. Also, if you are any age, you can purchase a $10
ticket to win $200. I can assist you with both if you need help.

If not, a drawing chance:

1. Mail a check to Gloria Conway at16008 Evening Star Ave., Maple Heights,
Ohio 44137. Make checks payable to NFBO Senior Division.

2. Select Zelle: use the email address nfbo.seniors at gmail.com
<mailto:nfbo.seniors at gmail.com> , and in the comments field write "Senior
Drawing."

3. Use Bill Pay through your financial institution. However, the bank check
must also be made out to NFBO Senior Division and not the Treasurer's name.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
