A warm thank you to all Cleveland members who volunteered with LEAP Prom 2025. It was a success, and we were added to the festivities. Cleveland passed out trinkets, wrote attendees names in Braille as keepsakes and welcomed all visitors with a smile. Graciously, LEAP reserved a table for Cleveland members to enjoy the scrumptious meal. The DJ played great music and everyone either danced in their seats or on the ballroom dance floor.

Our June meeting will be on June 21, 2025 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. The location is the MLK Library Tech Room, which is on the second floor. The address is 10601 Euclid Avenue. Please bring a guest.
///
The Cleveland Chapter met with the Disability Rights of Ohio (DRO) about the issues members are having with Paratransit. DRO has agreed to assist us, and I am awaiting their advocacy. In addition, a few members filed a charge with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission about the same concerns. We are waiting their response as well.
///
Senate Bill 225 was heard last week. I sent in a support email about eliminating subminimum wage in Ohio. If you receive a call, because this was a Chapter response, be sure to inform them that you are in favor of the bill.
///
Cleveland, it is time for our recreational outing. V.A. Sweeties is the place, golf is our game and ice cream, and candy is our shame. On this coming Saturday, June 7, 2025, Cleveland will gather together. If you have not alerted me that you will be in the place, call, text or email me immediately. The times are 10:30AM to 1:00PM. If you would like to golf, $10 will be collected from each participant. Bring lots of money to purchase your lunch, candy and delicious ice cream.
///
All Cleveland members and friends who ordered NFB gear two weeks ago, Betty, who is the designer will begin working on them this week. I will provide you with your total price hopefully by next week.

Here is an email from Renee on Charles Bonnet Syndrome.
Visual Hallucinations with Vision Loss.
Charles Bonnet Syndrome, visual hallucinations that can accompany vision loss, is often overlooked or worse, misdiagnosed. We chat with the founder of Mary Carmel’s Light <https://marycarmelslight.com/> , an organization dedicated to supporting those facing Charles Bonnet Syndrome (sometimes called CBS).

Cleveland Chapter, President
The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
